Business & Team VPNs
Centralised billing and admin, priced per seat rather than per device
Pros
- Centralised billing and admin removes the overhead of managing separate individual subscriptions
- Dedicated static IPs make it practical to allowlist access to internal systems
Cons
- Per-seat pricing can work out more expensive than consumer plans for very small teams — worth comparing both ways
- Admin/onboarding overhead isn’t worth it for a one- or two-person team
About Business & Team VPNs
Business and team VPN plans are built around a different problem than consumer plans: managing access for multiple employees rather than protecting one person’s devices. Expect a centralised admin dashboard for adding/removing team members and monitoring usage, consolidated billing instead of individual subscriptions, and often the option to add a dedicated (static) IP address per user or per office — useful for allowlisting access to internal tools. The pricing model is also genuinely different: per-seat monthly cost rather than a flat consumer subscription, so total cost scales with team size in a way it’s worth comparing against simply buying several individual consumer plans for a very small team.

Frequently asked questions
Is a business VPN plan worth it for a very small team?
Not always — for two or three people, several individual consumer subscriptions can sometimes be cheaper than a per-seat business plan. It tends to make sense once centralised billing, admin control, or dedicated IPs become genuinely useful, not just at a specific headcount.
Are you a VPN provider yourselves?
No — VPN Comparison Guide is an independent comparison and information service. We don’t operate VPN infrastructure ourselves; our aim is honest, specific guidance to help you compare providers.
Why does the country a VPN provider is based in matter?
It affects what data-sharing laws and intelligence-sharing arrangements the provider could be legally compelled to comply with — see our jurisdiction and “5/9/14 Eyes” explainer on the About page for the detail. It’s a genuine factor to weigh, not a strict requirement, since VPN services themselves aren’t a regulated trade the way some other industries are.
